On the side of advisory projects, the Yemeni Institute of Directors implemented the governance project of The Yemen Financial Services company (We NET). on December 18, 2023, after the company submitted a request to the Institute to implement one of the advisory services, which is diagnosing governance practices, through which the company will be able to know where it is now? And where is the position you want to reach? In essence, they are two questions: “Where are we?” And “Where do we want to be? As it enables it to measure best practices in various key dimensions of governance and to develop a plan to improve the performance of the company’s governance internally, the project went through several stages as follows:
• The Institute’s advisory team obtained several basic files on the company.
• Coordinating to attend a workshop that included the company’s work team and stakeholders, shareholders’ representatives, the Board of Directors, senior executives and the Board Secretary, for the purpose of diagnosing its governance practices.
• Unpacking and analyzing the data of the diagnostic tool for governance practices within the company.
• Read and interpret information to conclude.
• Preparing a report on the results of the diagnosis that includes recommendations for improvement, which will form an action plan for governance applications in the coming stages.

On Wednesday and Thursday 15-16 March 2023, the Yemeni Institute of Directors (YIoD), one of the Yemeni Business Club entities, implemented the third part of the Board Member Series program in its tenth run, using the IFC methodology, for board members in many companies and banks. The program focused on Its financial part and contains the financial details of the board of directors. What matters to the members of the board of directors is knowing about financial management, disclosure, and transparency. The participants in the program will complete the last part according to the program’s plan on the legal topic.

For the fifth year the Yemeni Institute of Directors is holding Ring the Bell Event.
On March 11, 2023, we organized an awareness session on the importance of having women in the business community and board of directors. The event was attended by over 30 participants, including business owners, executives, and professionals from different industries epically from the Yemeni Business Club, the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and Arab Governance Forum. The purpose of the session was to raise awareness about the benefits of gender diversity in the workplace and the need to promote women’s leadership and participation in decision-making processes. In addition to ringing the bell for them.
The session discussed the current state of gender diversity in the business community and the board of directors, and it highlighted the low representation of women in leadership positions and the benefits of having a diverse and inclusive workplace. The presenters also discussed the challenges faced by women in the workplace, such as discrimination, unconscious bias, and work-life balance.
The session also included a Q&A part, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences and perspectives. The event concluded with a call to action, urging participants to take concrete steps to promote women’s leadership and gender diversity in their organizations.
